family break at The Olde Barn Hotel a return visit probably says it all we stayed one night at the Olde Barn as a family break with our daughter and family having stayed previously with a group of friends we had two rooms - a double and a family room where the hotel kindly provided travel cots for the two year old twins Bothe rooms were warm spacious well equipped and very comfortable as part of the stay we were able to use the hotel pool before dinner then again after breakfast before we left we ate Dinner at the hotel in the evening taking advantage of a satisfying and excellent value meal deal for the four of us and a good selection on the children's menu followed by ice cream breakfast was again excellent with an ample selection to please all including the two year old who likes two wheaterbix and the other twin who went for the sausage not to leave out the five year old practicing for the French trip with a croissant on the way down to the hotel we call at Robin hood tree - the story being a source of fascination to the five year old then very locally on departure we spent the day at Belton house an excellent choice for the family with a wonderful play area complete with train followed by the Maze and easter egg trail ( with a real easter egg on completion ) - Perfect , until rain stopped play the hotel has a large and safe car park

Location was good, only 10 mins from Grantham Hospital. It's a pet friendly hotel which was ideal as we ended up having to bring our two small dogs - also plentry of space to walk them. Easy access to our room on the 1st floor as there was a disabled lift and a wheelchair available - my partner can't walk far so this was ideal. Room was clean, tidy and nice and quiet so had a decent night's sleep. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that.

Hotel itself was a bit dated. Our room was miles away from reception (just how I like it) with facilities that would make it accessible for those who cannot climb stairs. The room was also quite dated in its decor but had quite a nice foor poster bed which frankly was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in a hotel. Shower pressure was great the following day. Coffee facilities in the room were acceptable.

Customer service is excellent at this great hotel. From the moment you arrive to the moment I left, I felt really well looked after. I loved visiting the pool and saunas in the morning which were much appreciated. I had a well appointed, clean room. I was only there for one night but would return and would recommend to other travellers, even if you have to go out of your way to get there.

Staff were all beyond friendly which is rare these days and it was much appreciated. This goes for the reception staff,bartenders,cleaners and waitresses. Thank you. Breakfast was great and all in all we had a great stay. We sadly didn't get to use many of the facilities due to attending a wedding so I am unable to comment on the pool area etc.
